Name
Black Entrepreneurship: The New Face of Small Business
Description

Despite an uncertain economy, black entrepreneurship is booming. While the pandemic sparked job losses, disrupted lives, and disproportionately impacted communities of color, it also led many to rethink priorities and chase dreams. By some estimates, the number of black-owned businesses increased 38% between 2020 and 2021. The Guardian has explored this phenomenon in its series, the New Face of Small Business which will come to life on stage during Mighty Dream.

Moderated by Guardian contributor (and recent Virginia resident) Patrice Worthy, the panel will explore the obstacles and opportunities faced by Black small business owners, from access to capital to building professional support networks.
