MeShall Hills is Executive Director for the American Heart Association (AHA) Hampton Roads. With
an affinity for educating others on prevention and education related to cardiovascular disease and
stroke; she has successfully implemented numerous programming while increasing the support of
revenue in a region with a population of more than 1.8 million people. Hills began her career with
the AHA as Development Director in North Carolina, managing corporate accounts, recruiting
volunteers, and cultivating new sponsors in addition to maintaining relationships to renew former
sponsorships for campaigns including the Heart Walk, Heart Ball and Go Red for Women. Her
advancement in the market led her to a new passion that prioritized the impact and hands-on need
in the community, leading her to become Community Impact Director in Hampton Roads. Upon
completion of her dual master’s degree in Health Communications and Public Health, Hills quickly
established relationships with C-Suite executives representing each area health institution while
directly aiding the individuals facing health disparities and inequities. Her determination propelled
her to success as she led planning processes, and enhanced community partnerships while
collaborating with faith-based leaders and volunteers to support overall health. A graduate of the
prestigious McKinsey Executive Leadership Program, Hills’ maturation within the organization
propelled her to lead the Hampton Roads market as Executive Director. She’s been recognized
nationally and awarded for her ability to lead with mission and speak with a trusted voice.
