Winter Keemer is a junior Cybersecurity major on the Computer Science track at the illustrious Hampton University. Her interest in technology began in high school, where she was first exposed to information technology- otherwise known as IT, as a field to study. Though she couldn’t take any courses related to IT because of her involvement in the performing arts program at her high school, she began doing research on the field and instantly became fascinated by the way computers communicate. After her sophomore year of college, Winter interned with Accenture Federal Services (AFS) where she worked hands-on with their Extended Detection and Response (XDR) team, which allowed her to explore the different realms of Cybersecurity. After graduating, Winter aspires to pursue a career as a Cybersecurity Analyst which involves locating network vulnerabilities and performing ethical hacking to mitigate and prevent cyber threats.
